I’ll be taking Rachael up this evening.
We’re 28 days into this today and STILL in a hospital because there are no beds in a reasonable skilled nursing facility and it’s iffy if she has the stamina to sustain the rigors of a true rehab just yet. We’ll be re-evaluated soon.
Please pray that Rachael gets the same reaction Nathaniel got.
Also, please pray that we get into the right facility for us.

Hi there! I have been following Anissa’s progress and thinking about your family since the beginning. I just found out that you guys are in Atlanta and, I, live in Atlanta. I know I am a stranger, but I want to bring you food or offer to babysit. I have references. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

praying for you all. I know it has to be hard for you and the children, but especially for you. Seeing your beautiful wife this way, and hoping and praying for her to get better. The ups, the downs, and all of the extra things you are responsible for, most of all, the unknown. Praying for Anissa’s recovery, for the right facility, and for your precious little ones to get a great response from their Loving Mom. I know it has to be hard, and I’m praying for her daily, and for your and the children’s strength through it all.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.

“wife to a tech ninja” grabbed me hard and made me read back through what’s been happening since November. Never heard of you, already can’t remember how I got here. Twitter, maybe. Something about a bowl of rice and some buttons.
From an old grey-haired “tech samurai,” I hope the best for you and all of yours. I cannot imagine how you manage to keep going.
My step-brother-from-another-mother had a massive stroke in August (I think) and he’s been fighting to come back, too. Arachnoid something-or-other that has an unknown recovery rate (most folks don’t make it to the hospital), and so it’s all sorta guess-work as to what’s going to spring a leak or fall off the merry-go-round next. He’s losing time, and sometimes fights with his nurses, ’cause he doesn’t know where he is. He’s ten days older than I am, and I’m only 38.
As my wife’s family would put it, “I’ll be holding you all in the light.”

Anissa’s prayers did amazing things for my family not quite a year ago – sending prayers and love, and thinking of you all often. Hope Rachael’s visit went well.
Hugs,

Lots of prayers being sent your way.
My stepfather is being transferred to rehab tomorrow after 5 weeks to the day in the hospital. We did lots of research – the best recommendation we got was a hospital affiliated rehab unit with transitional unit. That way he gets more nursing care in the transitional unit until he’s able to withstand the rigors of full inpatient rehab.
With all the prayers headed your way, I know the right bed in the right facility will open up for her.

Peter,
I want you to know that it is YOU that I’m praying for daily and YOU whom all my prayers are focused on. Everyone is praying for Anissa and that is wonderful and amazing, but I want you to know that even though I’ve never met you and didn’t even hear of Anissa until I read a post of hers like 3 months ago that my prayers are concentrated on you. For God to continue to uphold you and provide you strength to be advocate, husband and father through all of this. I pray for you, Peter, daily and I wanted you to know that.
