Guess what I’m doing right now?
I’m NOT jabbing myself in the eye with a white hot, rusty spoon.
But OH SO close.
Househunting!
Househunting with three children.
And Pete.
Suffice it to say that we aren’t that strong at making decisions. We can turn any situation into an mental gridlock of epic proportion.
Peter gets a job offer that’s practically covered in chocolate and wrapped in shiny bows….takes us nearly three months to decide.
When to move? Oh, twelve months later we finally come to an exit strategy.
Pants WITH pleats or WITHOUT? Might as well just go naked.
We research, we wrangle, we analyze every possible outcome…we make spreadsheets…for real, folks.
Perhaps we need professional help? Can you imagine us trying to choose a therapist?
Our poor real estate agent is doomed to drink heavily after she’s done with this job, maybe I’ll offer to pay her fee in rum.
Today wasn’t a complete bust by any means though!
Peter and I found the house that we’d be willing to move into tomorrow.
Unfortunately, not the SAME house.
It’s going to be a long 6 weeks, folks.

Oh, my. At least it seems you still have your sense of humor and, fortunately, very bad aim!
Good luck with the house hunting!

You guys don’t happen to be Virgos do you?
We both are – you should see the decision making skills around here. :rolls eyes:

Wow, thank goodness, I thought for sure that my husband and I were the only ones that could drag out decisions until… well there were no other options to discuss 🙂
Good Luck house hunting.

My husband has to analyze every last thing about larger purchases. Car shopping with him was pure torture. Luckily we both fell in love with our current house right away and there was no long agonizing decision process. It helped that we only had a few days to find a house.

We lived in four states in five years – pregnant, trying to rehabilitate a child who had just been diagnosed with autism, THEN one child got hit with type 1 diabetes. We made it. You will too. Moves are stressful. You’ll get through it – hang in there!

Good luck with that. I’m horrible with decicions, unless they’ve already been made…and then I like to piss and moan about it all day. The only thing I’ve decided right now is that I’m beginning to hate my job. Gotta love that!

And I thought searching for an apartment sucked! 🙂 Good luck!
Also, I f.i.n.a.l.l.y. answered your questions on my blog!

My husband and I used to get stuck in Blockbuster. As in ‘absolutely no way two people could possibly decide on which movie to watch tonight’ stuck. Pathetic.
Our house? We hunted for a year.

We’re house hunting too. It has gotten so bad that hubby said to me tonight, “just go out without me and buy something. I don’t care anymore.”
Our search is made worse by the fact that we have a high schooler we don’t want to move out of his school area. There are very few houses in our price range here (we’re apartment dwellers now) and those that are decent get snapped up in a matter of days.
Help me Obi Wan!

Last house we bought, hubby was out of town. I had to call him and give him directions to my, I mean, our house.
Best househunting experience we have ever had!
The same right one for both of you will come!!
Love,
Natalie

UUUGGG! Can totally relate. My step sib’s are now our landlords(as of 1-1), so we have to move by 7-31 or face a 60% increase in rent.
If we are paying that much we could spend the same amount and own. Of course we would have to move about an hour away. Which is a pain with one in high school and the other autistic and doesn’t like change.
Have you started going thru things yet? Since I have a little time, already started, so less to move. Doesn’t help that we went from 900 sq feet to 1500 sq feet. So last time we just packed up and moved everything, so this time have 13 years worth of stuff to go thru.

Easy solution.
Put the choices online, and we can all vote on them!

See, my husband is well-trained. He just knows to agree with me. It solves many of our problems.
BTW, I got your questions answered! (Whew, finally!)

Oh heavens. Househunting with kids? You must be on crack. Can’t you tie them to a post somewhere? We ARE talking about Georgia, aren’t we?
